PRIVATE PILOT – AIRPLANE, AIRMEN CERTIFICATION STANDARDS (ACS)
Tired of looking at the FAA’s PDF of the Airman Certification Standards for the Private Pilot’s License – Airplane? I was! That’s why I built this app. The PDF if still in there, but all the content are digitized and easy to browse.
This app adds value to your training process by letting you download and cache all FAA source material. I have linked each Task to the appropriate page in any relevant PDF. This means you have all your reference material in one place and it is indexed for you!
To further add value, I have allowed you to select each ‘Task’ as complete or not. This should provide you with a way to keep focused on your goal of getting your Private Pilot’s License.
Here is a list of the key features:
-Easily browse all ACS’s and Tasks defined in the FAA’s PDF document.
-Download and cache all relevant FAA source material
-Jump to the appropriate pages in each PDF for each task.
-Select which ‘Tasks’ you can complete to 100%
-View your progress
-Progress and displayed tasks updated based upon which class designation you are trying to get your License with
Future plans:
Version 1.3 allows you to cache all source material and it is indexed by Task. In the near future, I would like to allow anyone to upload a reference document and link it to a given task. I also have plans to include all the FAR's and have them indexed per Task. Basically a crowdsourced collection of documents about each Task and a more robust indexing system that can index by item (Knowledge area, Skill, Risk).
